BSDLabs basic e-mail setting

 

Setting up e-mail usually requires two steps - setting up the incoming mail server and the outgoing (SMTP) server.

 

Below are the settings used for our services.

Please note that we use self-signed certificates, in order to use SSL and TLS with the e-mail client usually some sort of certificate installation may be required. If you already have a username and password, log in using the form from the Start page and read more about certificates and how they are installed.

Incoming server, IMAP:

Server name: stranger.inter-sonic.com

Security, use one out of the following

none, port 143

TLS, port 143

SSL, port 993

 

Login with the local part of your username, e.g. the part before the "@".

 

Outgoing server (SMTP)

Server name: terrapin.inter-sonic.com

Security

To be able to send e-mail through our outgoing server, you need two things.

* You must connect with SSL/TLS on port 465 or 587

* You must login using the same username as with the incoming server
